Commissioned by Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop and Edinburgh City Council
in commemoration of Patrick Geddes. Seasonal artwork consisting of
6,000 crocus bulbs which appear in Spring in the form of giant pieces
of clothing stretched between traditional iron washing poles. After
the 19th C wash -house originally on the site was pulled down, the
communal garden was used during the 20th C as a drying green for the
Barrack's families serving at Edinburgh Castle.
